Hammerl IMITOR antiquing solution, 90ml

JOHA® Imitor product serves to give your instrument an old, used appearance by etching out the varnish (colour layer). It is used for antiquing. It is applied by means of a sponge or another object. One dabs it on the places where the varnish is to be removed.

Imitor should be left on the varnish for approximately five minutes and then be removed completely with a wet cloth or else all the varnish will be damaged. If one merely wants to achieve a coloring effect, Imitor is applied to the varnish. If the instrument is intended to look somewhat “the worse wear”, Imitor should be applied to the finishing varnish. However, this results in rough patches. Here, too, Imitor must be removed completely with plenty of water.
